LOSE YOUR HEAD (2013) Patrick Schuckmann

The initial idea for the film comes from a news story: a boy, on holiday in Berlin, disappears after an evening at Berghain .
Of all the nightclubs I've ever been to, this is undoubtedly my favorite: the music, the venue itself, and the people who frequent it. Everything is fantastic. So, I thought setting a movie there was a fantastic choice.
The mysterious fate of the young Portuguese man, which was talked about in the newspapers, is fictionalized here through the character of Dimitri , a Greek boy who disappears after an evening at the famous club (who appears in the film under his real name).
The story follows Luis , a Spanish boy who takes a break from his man and his life in Madrid and heads off to Berlin alone. This overlaps with the story of Dimitri 's sister and cousin , who wander around the German capital in search of their missing relative.
The first half of the film is interesting: Luis meets Viktor (his character is the film's most successful feature), a charming vagabond living in the Berlin underground, closely linked to Dimitri . Thus begins the outline of a thriller, which, however, is completely destroyed in the second half. The director literally loses the thread, the story becomes meaningless and almost impossible to follow: nightmares, dreams, characters who die and return. A delirium.
A psychological thriller that slowly turns into an (unintentionally) comic film that not even the highly dramatic ending can save in the slightest.
But all of this leaves a great desire to return to Berghain .
